Key Responsibilities
  • Perform set‑up and all position welding on a diversified line of weldments and structures involving a variety of parts and assemblies.
  • Perform all operations in accordance with the specified guidelines and instructions, while exercising safety for oneself and others.
  • Understand, properly set up and proficiently operate a variety of welding equipment such as Oxy‑Acetylene gas, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Plasma, power tools, shop equipment, etc.
  • Working knowledge of welding symbols with the ability to weld to the specifications defined by those symbols.
  • Weld to proper dimensions and to meet general test requirements.
  • Work from drawings, job layouts, and sketches.
  • Fit, position, and weld a variety of items such as frames, bases, hoppers, covers, hoods, pipes, production service equipment and machinery.
  • Chip and grind welds as required.
  • Perform a variety of duties requiring a cutting torch.
  • Proficiently operate welding equipment as stated in item #3 plus all shop equipment and portable power tools necessary to prepare and final finish assigned task.
  • Safely and effectively operate all shop fabrication equipment.
  • Understand different types of steel and various preheat requirements.
  • Be capable of using Computerized Maintenance Management software to create work notifications, look up and order parts, print work orders, and enter time confirmations.
