Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled piping technician to fabricate, install and test piping systems. The role requires reading blueprints, laying out pipe installations, and ensuring work meets specifications.

You will travel as needed and contribute to safe, efficient project execution. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and several years of related experience, with the ability to read blueprints and operate common trade tools.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing skills required.
• Intermediate ability to read blueprints and use trade tools.
• Basic mathematics skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates and installs piping.
• Cuts threads, and hammers pipe to specifications.
• Measures and marks pipes for cutting and threading.
• Attaches pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, and other methods.
• Reads blue prints to determine parts requirements of the job.
• Plans pipe system layout and installation.
• Tests piping to ensure against leaks.
• Performs structural welding to attach and secure piping systems.
• Cleans work site when job completed at end of day.
