Job summary

Turner Industries seeks a Pipefitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems for industrial processing equipment in Norco, LA. The role is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman; duties follow client procedures and site safety rules.

Must meet NCCER credentials or pass craft tests; high school or equivalent required with 1–4 years of pipefitting experience. Per diem/relocation not offered.

• Joins pipe by threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints; secures pipe to structure
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and tests piping for leaks

We are seeking a Pipefitter for a position in Norco, LA. The Pipefitter position lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have NCCER credentials or be able to pass craft test
• Per diem and relocation are not available for this position
• 401K immediately vested, benefits after 60 days, holidays after 90 days, vacation after 1 year
• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications; inspects work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness; plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers; cuts, threads and bends pipe; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping; test piping system for leaks.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
