Job summary

MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville, NC is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to install and maintain piping systems per plans and specs. This role requires strong reading of drawings and the ability to manage complex field work.

The candidate will lead a crew, coordinate fabrication, installation, and testing of piping for gas, steam, water or oil systems. Must have safe work practices, a valid driver’s license, and pass all required tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years experience preferred in piping or related field.
• Pass employer performance test or standard tests for certifications.
• Pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure piping systems are installed per plans and specifications.
• Coordinate activities of workers engaged in fabrication, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping fixtures and systems.
• Read drawings and specifications; lay out and fit fabricated components.
• Select welding methods, sizes, and materials according to charts and specifications.
• Lead a crew on job sites and coordinate multi-discipline tasks.
