Job summary

Morgan Corp. Industrial Division is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to install, fabricate, align, and test piping systems in our Southeast industrial projects. You will read drawings and isometrics, perform pipe fit-up, and collaborate with welders and supervisors to meet project requirements.

This role emphasizes safety, adherence to codes, and accurate field measurements. Working in a fast-paced construction environment, you will contribute to quality installations and support commissioning

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Working knowledge of industrial piping systems, materials, fittings, valves, and installation methods.
  • Experience with pipe fabrication, layout, and fit-up activities.
  • Familiarity with hydrostatic and pressure testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of rigging practices and material handling techniques.
  • Understanding of welding terminology, weld preparations, and pipefitting tolerances.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and specialized pipefitting equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Fit, align, and install piping systems according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, plans, and specifications to execute piping installations.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and prepare pipe for installation.
  • Safely rig, position, and set pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials.
  • Understand weld joints, fit-up requirements, tolerances, and work closely with welders to ensure proper installation.
  • Ensure proper elevation, slope, orientation, and flange alignment.
  • Install valves, flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, strainers, and specialty components.
  • Connect piping systems to pumps, tanks, turbines, heat exchangers, and other equipment.
  • Prepare systems for testing and identify leaks or deficiencies.
  • Operate pipe machines, chain vises, flange alignment tools, levels, lasers, torque equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Safely perform or support cutting, grinding, and other hot-work activities.
  • Identify problems with piping systems and determine corrective actions.
  • Perform work in accordance with project specifications, OSHA requirements, and applicable piping codes.
  • Make adjustments in the field while maintaining design requirements and system integrity.

Description

The Morgan Corp. Industrial Division is an industrial contractor that self-performs all major trades in industrial markets (power, water/wastewater, water infrastructure, mining, etc.) throughout the Southeast. We pride ourselves on performing quality work safely by developing and executing the best plan.

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter. The Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, fabrication, assembly, alignment, and testing of piping systems used in industrial facilities. This position requires the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, perform precise pipe fit-up and layout, work safely around heavy equipment and hot-work operations, and collaborate closely with welders, supervisors, and other trade professionals to ensure quality installations that meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with hydrostatic and pressure testing procedures.
