Job summary

Professional Contract Services, Inc. (PCSI) is seeking a Pipefitter to join the Mechanical department at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.

The role covers installation, repairs, and maintenance of high‑pressure steam, hydronic heat, and plumbing systems for a military facility. Responsibilities include reviewing as-built drawings, fabricating and assembling pipe, troubleshooting issues, and testing systems to ensure safe operation in indoors/outdoors environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with apprenticeship training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in maintaining or repairing steam, hot water, chilled water, or gas distribution systems.
• Ability to obtain boiler operator certification or qualifications to support high‑pressure steam equipment.
• Experience in industrial, military, government, healthcare, or campus utilities environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair boilers, pressure vessels, burners, and heat exchange equipment.
• Inspect and repair steam, condensate, hot water, chilled water, and gas distribution piping and valves.
• Read blueprints and ISO drawings, perform takeoffs, and document findings.
• Follow safety practices; participate in after-hours on‑call as needed.
• Maintain high‑pressure steam systems per codes and manufacturer specs.
