Job summary

Stellantis in Sterling Heights, Michigan is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to layout, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems for steam, water, sprinkler and related equipment in a manufacturing setting.

This role requires journeyman level skills, the ability to read blueprints and specifications, and to plan material sequences while prioritizing safety and quality. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 4+ years combined experience and training similar to an Pipefitter apprenticeship or equivalent apprenticeship completion.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays.
• Experience as a pipefitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.
• Knowledge of pipe materials and measurement, and ability to cut, bend, thread and install piping.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping systems.
• Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, and manuals.
• Plan sequence of operation and material use according to pressures and piping knowledge.
• Perform incidental tasks to complete larger tasks.
• Inspect piping systems to detect malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Support mechanical operations and maintenance activities.
