Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production.

You will work from specifications, select pipe sizes, install automatic controls, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity on site. Requires 4 years journeyman-level experience, NCCER certification, a valid driver’s license, and TWIC card. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws and pipe tools.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair per specs.
• Select pipe sizes and related materials per specs.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and components.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other fluids.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Operate pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Dip piping materials to coat against erosion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
