Job description

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring an experienced Pipefitter for a high-purity/industrial fabrication environment in Richmond, VA. This position involves the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems used in advanced manufacturing and process facilities such as pharmaceutical plants, food and beverage production, and cleanroom environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret piping blueprints, isometric drawings, and schematics
2. Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes to required specifications
3. Install and fit high-purity stainless steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloy piping systems
4. Work with orbital welding teams to ensure proper alignment and fit-up for automated welds
5. Inspect and test installed systems for leaks and proper operation using pressure testing, hydrostatic, or pneumatic methods
6. Maintain clean and organized work areas, especially in controlled or cleanroom environments
7. Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to pipefitting and high-purity installations

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 3 years of pipefitting experience in an industrial or high-purity environment
2. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and piping isometrics
3. Experience with stainless steel tubing, sanitary fittings, and clamp systems
4. Familiarity with orbital welding processes and working alongside orbital welders
5. Ability to work from lifts, ladders, or in tight spaces as needed
6. Strong knowledge of OSHA and job site safety standards
7. Trade school certification or relevant vocational training

Skills (Not Required):

• Experience in semiconductor, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries
• Basic welding skills (TIG)
• Cleanroom protocol knowledge
