Job summary

MasTec is seeking a Construction Helper to assist journeymen in planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of complex industrial systems in accordance with plans, specs, codes and industry standards. You will read measuring tools, understand plant coordinates, and perform pipe work using hand and power tools.

The role requires safety-minded teamwork, daily toolbox participation, and the ability to work overtime on diverse shifts.

Qualifications

2-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
Experience in construction crafts as a helper or laborer with basic craft knowledge.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
Understand plant north and drawing coordinates.
Perform pipe threading and fitting tasks (butt, socket, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued/fused).
Install valves, couplings and fittings; remove damaged pipe.
Produce quality work per plans and standards.
Communicate with Foreman about problems, materials, hazards.
Work different shifts and overtime as required.
