Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is hiring a Pipefitter Helper in the Baytown, TX area to support field construction activities on offshore and petrochemical projects. You will assist pipefitters with setting, assembling and installing pipe, while preparing materials and maintaining a safe work environment.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of industrial experience, knowledge of pipe fittings, and be prepared for long shifts and travel to remote sites.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with pipe fittings, bolts and valves.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home for extended periods.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and 7 days per week.
• Must meet physical demands and attend mandatory safety meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist pipefitter with setting, assembling and installing pipe.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for hoisting and rigging.
• Locate and mark bending and cutting lines on metal.
• Operate tools and equipment such as beveling machines and torches.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and restock supplies.
