Job description

Pipefitter Helper

This person will assist pipefitters and pipe fabricators in laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various systems including steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
2. Cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes using pneumatic drills.
3. Select the appropriate type and size of pipe.
4. Mount pipe hangers and brackets to support pipes.
5. Assist Pipefitter in installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
6. Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipes if necessary.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

Education: No minimum education requirements.

Experience: At least 6 months of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
