Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years pipe fitting experience.
• Alternatively, technical school plus experience in commercial plumbing.
• Ability to read and utilize Pipefitter's Blue Book.
• This position requires working in diverse conditions including mechanical rooms, extreme weather, and precarious spaces.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds; occasionally more.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specs, plans and blueprints to understand work.
• Selects pipe type and size and related materials for each job.
• Inspects site to avoid obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
• Plans installation sequence to prevent conflicts with others.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specs.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal pipe and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by pressurizing and checking gauges.
