Job summary

The Systems Group in Columbus, MS is seeking a Pipefitter to handle pipe installation, cutting, threading, and mounting. You will follow safety rules and contribute to our mission of engineered solutions for a safer, more productive steel industry. This full-time role requires attention to detail and teamwork across projects nationwide.

Pay is up to $30 per hour with 48 hours per week. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) with match, paid vacation and holidays, and ongoing education

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and materials per specs.
• Inspect site for obstructions and plan installation.
• Cut and thread pipe using tools.
• Mount hangers and brackets for pipe support.
• Assemble and install metal or nonmetal pipes and fittings.
• Secure pipes to structures with brackets and clamps.
• Perform routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Ensure work area stays clean and organized.
• Work on various piping tasks as required.
• Assist with other duties as needed.

Pay Rate: Up to $30/ Hour

Hours: 48 Hours/ Week

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Pipefitter. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Pipefitter Job Responsibilities:

• Selects the type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
• Inspects the worksite to determine the presence of obstructions.
• Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
• Cuts pipe using a reciprocating saw, pipe cutter, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine, and/or other small hand tools.
• Threads pipe using a threading machine.
• Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machines.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings.
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
• Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
• Observes and comply with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as required.

Pipefitter Qualifications / Skills:

Experience and Requirements:

• Pipefitting in an industrial setting is preferred
• OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots (annual company allowance provided)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
