Job summary

The Systems Group is seeking a Pipefitter for the Nucor Shutdown site in Crawfordsville, IN. The role focuses on installing, fabricating, and maintaining pipe systems in an industrial setting, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

You will select pipe types, perform cuts and threading, mount hangers, and ensure compliance with project rules while supporting the day's operations at the Crawfordsville location. This position offers competitive pay and per diem opportunities.

Qualifications

• Industrial pipefitting experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• OSHA Met-Guard boots provided annually.

Responsibilities

• Selects the type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specs.
• Inspects the worksite to determine obstructions.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions and conflicts.
• Cuts pipe using reciprocating saw, pipe cutter, cutting torch and other tools.
• Threads pipe using threading machine.
• Bends pipe by hand or with bending tools/machines.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls/ceilings.
• Assembles and installs pipes and pipe fittings.
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps and hangers.
• Performs minor maintenance/ cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Observes and complies with safety/project rules and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.

Location: Nucor Shutdown - Crawfordsville, IN

Pay Rate: Up to $35/ Hour $130/Day Per Diem

Hours: 12 Hours/Day Duration of 13 Days

Pipefitter Job Responsibilities

• Selects the type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
• Inspects the worksite to determine the presence of obstructions.
• Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
• Cuts pipe using a reciprocating saw, pipe cutter, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine, and/or other small hand tools.
• Thread pipe using threading machine.
• Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machines.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold the pipe.
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings.
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
• Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as required.

Pipefitter Qualifications / Skills

Experience and Requirements

• Pipefitting in an industrial setting is preferred
