Overview

The Pipefitter is responsible for working on commercial mechanical projects, including laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical piping systems and pipe supports in various facilities such as office buildings, hotels, hospitals, and institutional facilities.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand isometric drawings.
• Layout, miter fittings, and fabricate branch saddles.
• Fit open butt-weld and socket-weld joints.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembling and installing various metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
• Skilled in connecting pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, solvent welded joints, pressed, and grooved methods.
• Ability to secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.
• Read and understand isometric drawings.
• Layout, miter fittings, and fabricate branch saddles.
• Fit open butt-weld and socket-weld joints.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry standards and competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

• Use oxygen and acetylene rigs to cut and bevel pipes, angle iron, brackets, etc.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
• Climb stairs.
• Move and work in different positions, including tight and confined spaces.
• Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Operate machinery and power tools.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Work in noisy environments.
• Perform light to heavy work, including moving objects weighing 20-100 pounds.

• Travel to job sites or office locations may constitute 0-5% of work time.

Pay Range

USD $21.13 - USD $28.21 per hour.
