Position Overview

State Utility Contractors, Inc. is hiring for the Pipe Layer/Skilled Laborer position in Monroe, NC. The pay range is provided below, with actual compensation based on skills and experience.

Pay Range

Base pay: $42,000.00/year (fixed range)

Responsibilities

1. Install underground piping (ductile iron, PVC, steel, concrete)
2. Maintain grade using pipe laser equipment
3. Read blueprints and diagrams
4. Use trench shoring equipment safely
5. Ensure trench safety and proper procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in underground pipe utilities
• Ability to pothole and assist with utility uncovering
• Ability to measure and cut pipes, lift up to 80 lbs
• Strong communication and supervisory skills
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Commitment to safety and quality
• Professional attitude and willingness to travel and work nights/weekends
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Entry-Level Skilled Laborer Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and pass drug screening
• Ability to lift 10-25 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Adhere to safety protocols
• Teamwork attitude
