Job summary

SE&M Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Pipefitter to install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems in industrial settings. You will read blueprints, interpret specs, and work with welding tools to join pipes by various methods.

The role requires 1+ year of pipefitting experience and an OSHA cert (or willingness to obtain). You will lead helpers and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently on projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of pipefitting experience in an industrial setting.
• OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems for steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.
• Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, supports, and related equipment.
• Use pipe cutters, threading machines, and welding tools to join pipes by welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, gluing, or threading.
• Fabricate pipe spools and components per project requirements using welding and fitting techniques.
• Diagnose and repair faults in piping systems (leaks, blockages, pressure issues).
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specs to plan layouts and ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards.
• Test piping systems for leaks via hydrostatic or air pressure tests.
• Lead and instruct mechanical piping helpers, mechanics, and fitters under supervision.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Other tasks as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in pipefitting, preferably in an industrial environment
• OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification or willingness to obtain one

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
• Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and materials and industrial standards
