Job summary

HII Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS, is seeking an experienced pipe welder to join a high-precision team. Perform TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel and Copper-Nickel, plus SMAW and FCAW as needed, following drawings and procedures to ensure system reliability.

Work in a 24/7 shipbuilding environment with safety as a priority, handling heights and confined spaces while maintaining craftsmanship and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on pipe welding experience with TIG/GTAW as a primary process.
  • Ability to weld Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel to exact specifications.
  • Skill in SMAW and FCAW processes.
  • Ability to work safely in complex shipyard environments.
  • Strong commitment to quality, precision, and craftsmanship.
  • Minimum 2 years of pipe welding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel using GTAW/TIG.
  • Weld using SMAW and FCAW processes.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure structural integrity.
  • Support ship construction in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including heights and confined spaces.

Compensation
  • Earn up to $39.46 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
  • Additional opportunities for overtime, training, and long‑term advancement.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high‑precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper‑Nickel using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG).
  • Weld using additional processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux‑Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure structural integrity and system reliability.
  • Support ship construction in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain safety standards that meet — and often exceed — industry requirements.
