The role involves high-precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel using GTAW/TIG, SMAW and FCAW, with drawings and welding procedures guiding work in a 24/7 shipyard setting. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of pipe welding experience.
  • Experience with GTAW/TIG welding on shipyard projects.
  • Ability to weld Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel to exact specifications.
  • Knowledge of SMAW and FCAW processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel using GTAW/TIG.
  • Use SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure structural integrity.
  • Support ship construction in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including working at heights, in confined spaces and in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain safety standards that meet or exceed industry requirements.

Job Overview

Ingalls Shipbuilding, part of HII’s Ingalls division, is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi, designing and building amphibious ships, destroyers and cutters for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. This role is part of a high‑performance team responsible for welding critical piping systems on naval vessels.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform high‑precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper‑Nickel using G.T.A.W./TIG.
  • Use SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure structural integrity and system reliability.
  • Support ship construction in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including working at heights, in confined spaces and in varying weather conditions.
