Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school certification or completed apprenticeship preferred.
• AWS or equivalent welding certification.
• 2+ years of experience in pipe welding or related field.
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, ANSI, and API codes.
• Strong physical dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces or adverse conditions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans.
• Measure, cut, and shape pipes using saws, grinders, and torches.
• Weld pipes using TIG, MIG, Stick, or other welding methods.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain and calibrate welding equipment and tools.
• Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
• Repair or replace damaged pipe systems and components.
• Prepare workpieces by cleaning, clamping, and positioning materials.
• Document work performed and report any issues or defects.
