Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components across multiple site locations.

The role requires precision welding, adherence to blueprints, and strict safety practices to deliver high-quality structural welds. The ideal candidate will perform welding in various positions, inspect welds for quality, and maintain equipment and tools while supporting a diverse range of projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to TIG and stick weld on stainless and/or carbon (pipe size and material welded varies per site).
• Must pass required weld tests (varies per site).
• Must wear safety gear and follow safety procedures.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Weld together metal components per blueprints or instructions using specified welding processes.
• Examine welds for bead size and conformance with specifications.
• Prepare broken parts for welding and repair as needed.
• Maintain safety and project rules on site.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
