Job description

Job Title: Pipe Welder
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Pay Rate: $30-$32 per hour

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, metal properties, weld shrinkage, and techniques.
• Uses various welding processes such as Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding.
• Positions, aligns, and fits components in various orientations.
• Bolts, clamps, and welds metal components for piping systems, plates, pipes, tubes, or structural shapes.
• Performs welding in different positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
• Connects cables, adjusts settings, and operates welding equipment as per procedures.
• Prepares electrodes, starts power supplies, and maintains proper arc during welding.
• Guides electrodes or guns to form specified welds, applying filler material as needed.
• Inspects welds for quality and specifications.
• Loads, transports, and unloads materials and tools.
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
• Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Supports other mechanics and team members as required.
• Follows safety protocols, including respiratory protection when necessary.
• Must pass employer performance and certification tests.

Physical Demands
