Page Mechanical Group, Inc. is seeking Experienced Pipe Layers for the LaPlace, LA area. The role involves assembling and connecting piping systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains, with emphasis on trenching, alignment, and sealing joints.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of construction background, be able to operate laser/pipe level, and understand slope. Physical stamina and willingness to travel within a 60-mile radius are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Dig trenches to lay pipe and grade as required.
• Lay pipe sections and complete connections between pipe sections.
• Complete welds on metal pipe where specified.
• Connect to sewer, water, and storm lines.
• Coordinate with pipe crews in trenches/boxes.
• Set and align pipes for welding or sealing.
• Install or repair sanitary or storm sewer structures or pipes.
• Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement.

EXPERIENCED Pipe Layers for the LaPlace, LAand surroundingareas

Duties/Responsibilities may/may not include the following:

• Job Scope:
  • Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructingpipesystems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out forpipes. Alignspipesand seals joints together with cement or glue.
• Documents Required:
  • Driver's License/Identification
  • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
• Required Skills:
  • MUST have CONSTRUCTION background (1 Year Minimum)
  • Ability to operate laser/pipe level
  • Ability to understand slope
  • Ability to set boxes
  • Ability to set mason boxes
  • Detailed knowledge of construction and pipe fitting techniques.
  • Knowledge of sewer systems, storm drains, and water mains.
  • Experience with machine-operated trenching tools
• Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Digging/Grading trenches to lay pipe in
  • Laying sections of pipe & completing connections between pipe sections
  • Completing welds on sections of metal pipe where metal piping is specified
  • Making connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines, & storm sewers.
  • Ability to coordinate with pipe crews while working inside trench or trench boxes.
  • Laypipefor storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
  • Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems
  • Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.
  • Grouting experience is a plus
  • Experience with checking grade
  • Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, positionpipe, or seal joints.
  • Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
  • Coordinate with operators to ensure PVC or RCP is properly connected and set to grade.
  • Understand safety precautions associated with working in trenches and trench boxes.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
  • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
  • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Must have good endurance
  • Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform task
  • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
  • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
• Must be able to pass drug screen.
• Must have reliable transportation (Will be required to travel up to a 60 mile radius)
• Pay:
  • Starting Pay: $17.00-$19.00 (Based on experience)
  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • 10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)
  • 12/2 Schedule
• Duration of Job:Temp to Hire (Based on Job Performance)
