Job summary

Branch's Civil Division is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our established team in the Richmond area. You will prepare and install underground pipelines for road construction, following specs and coordinating with the Pipe Foreman. This full-time role requires attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

This position involves laying out routes, cutting pipes, aligning sections, and ensuring proper trenching, safety practices, and quality workmanship in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required/preferred.
• 3–5 years of underground pipe laying experience.
• 2–4 years of road construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pipe laying techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to work in a team to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Install sanitary and storm sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes per specifications or blueprints and coordinate with supervisor.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Assist in aligning pipes during construction.
• Align and position pipes for welding or sealing.
• Check slopes with levels or lasers for conformance.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding, cement or glue.
• Tap and drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines or devices.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Grade trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Perform other general labor and construction duties as required.
• Promote and adhere to safety programs.

Duties/Responsibilities

Compensation Data

• Salary Min: $42,045.50
• Salary Max: $70,110

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

Physical Demands

Position Type/Expected Hours

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.
