Job summary

Blythe Development Co is seeking a Pipe Layer to install and connect underground utility pipes on active civil construction sites in the West Columbia, SC area. The role collaborates with heavy equipment operators to maintain line, grade, depth and trench safety while supporting project workflows and on-site execution.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of pipe laying experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to adapt to changing schedules and locations on diverse infrastructure

Qualifications

Ideal: two or more years of pipe layer experience.
Ability to work safely around trenches, underground utilities, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Install pipe for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, drains, and water mains.
Configure pipe routes and align pipeline sections.
Set lasers at the proper grade for each task.
Verify pipe is installed at the correct line, grade, and depth.
Assist heavy equipment operators in achieving the proper excavation depth.
Fit and align pipe correctly to help prevent leaks.
Ensure pipe is properly backfilled and chocked.
Confirm trenches have required safety equipment in place in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Adapt to changes in schedules, project locations, and shift times.
