Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Pipe Layer to lay and connect pipes for commercial construction projects on site in Tennessee. The role involves installing ductile iron piping, HDPE, and various pipe materials, with attention to bends, joints, and foundations.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and follow all safety protocols in a structured, labor-intensive environment. EOE/Vets/Disabilities.

Qualifications

• 2 years Commercial Construction Pipe Laying experience preferred
• Experience in underground ductile iron piping required
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Lay various types of pipe and fittings in commercial construction projects
• Install storm pipe, manholes, vaults, and catch basins as required
• Work with HDPE, PVC, CPVC, DIP, and steel piping materials
• Utilize pipe supports and fittings to secure installations
• Perform trenching, grading, positioning, and joint sealing tasks
• Engage in physical labor including shovel work and trench digging
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a drug-free work environment

Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie is currently accepting applications for a Pipe Layer. Below are the main responsibilities for this position.

(This description may not include all duties required of this position)

• Lay various types of pipe, including ductile pipe with mechanical joints, Flex Ring, Lockring, and Mega Lugs, as well as fittings, valves, and more.
• Install RCP/HDPE storm pipe, manholes, vaults, and catch basins.
• Work with C-900 slip joint, HDPE fusion pipe, flanged pipe, and other materials including DIP, PVC, CPVC, and steel.
• Utilize pipe supports, flotation collars, clevis hangers, and glue joint pipes (PVC, CPVC, dual containment, etc.).
• Perform tasks such as grading trenches or culverts, positioning pipes, and sealing joints.
• Engage in physical labor tasks, including shovel work and trench digging, as required for commercial construction pipe laying.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a drug-free work environment.
