Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking pipe laborer to join our construction team. The Pipe Laborer will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems (including water, sewer, and stormwater systems).
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for piping work.
- Help in the laying and alignment of pipes, ensuring they are set according to project specifications.
- Operate hand tools and small machinery to assist with pipe cutting, threading, and assembly.
- Clean and clear work areas of debris to ensure safety.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Follow all safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist pipefitters and other construction workers in executing tasks as directed.
- Measure, cut, and prepare pipes for installation.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily work activities and progress.
- Work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with other laborers, foremen, and supervisors.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a laborer or in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or work orders.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and tools (up to 75 lbs.)
- Willingness to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trenching, pipe laying, or pipe fitting.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- OSHA safety certification or other construction-related certifications.
- Previous experience in plumbing, pipefitting, or general construction.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy materials and tools, sometimes up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods during work shifts.
- Ability to work in tight spaces and trenches.
