Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in underground utility construction.
  • Minimum 2 years leading pipe crews or foreman-level role.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices.
  • Must be familiar with heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of trenching, excavation, grading and utility construction methods.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Instill safety as a top priority.
  • Lead and motivate pipe crews in underground utility installation.
  • Interpret and execute work per project plans and standards.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities, equipment, and materials.
  • Conduct pre-task planning and daily safety meetings.
  • Monitor trench safety, excavation practices, and utility locating requirements.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers and other trades.
  • Track production quantities and prepare daily reports.
  • Inspect work to ensure quality and specs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including logs and safety records.
  • Promote a positive team environment and Ames Construction culture.
