The role requires 5+ years in underground utility construction and 2+ years in crew leadership, plus OSHA knowledge and a valid driver's license. Travel nationwide with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of underground utility construction experience.
  • 2+ years leading pipe crews or foreman-level role.
  • OSHA standards and practices knowledge.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment (power and non-power).
  • Multitasking, time management, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Instill Safety as a top priority.
  • Lead, direct, and motivate pipe crews in underground utility installations.
  • Interpret and execute work per plans, specs, and standards.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities, equipment, and materials for productivity.
  • Conduct pre-task planning and daily safety meetings.
  • Monitor trench safety and excavation procedures.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Surveyors, and trades to maintain schedules.
  • Track production quantities and provide daily reports.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and specs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (timecards, logs, production reports, safety records).
  • Promote a positive team environment and uphold Ames Construction values.
