Job Title: Pipe Fitter
Reports to: Area Manager or Director of Technical Operations
FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
Position Purpose: The primary purpose of the Pipe Fitter is to work on HVAC systems, including installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing closed loop piping systems in industrial, commercial, and residential environments, often collaborating with the HVAC Mechanical Service Team.

Pipe Fitter Duties and Responsibilities

1. Pipe Installation and Assembly: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes; install pipes, valves, fittings, and components per blueprints and specifications; secure pipes using brackets, clamps, and tools.
2. Maintenance and Repair: Inspect, test, and maintain piping systems; detect leaks or obstructions; perform system check-ups.
3. Reading Blueprints and Schematics: Interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and diagrams; ensure compliance with codes and project specs.
4. Welding and Soldering: Use welding, brazing, soldering, or cementing methods; work with various materials like steel, copper, plastic, and alloys.
5. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and identify workplace hazards.
6. Tools and Equipment: Operate and maintain specialized tools such as pipe threaders, cutters, bending machines, and welding equipment.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements

• Proficient in reading technical documents and blueprints.
• Knowledge of piping systems and materials (steel, copper, PVC, etc.).
• Familiar with hand and power tools.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or apprenticeship preferred.
• Welding and soldering experience preferred.
• Operational knowledge of computers and MS Office preferred.
• Ability to understand and communicate instructions clearly.
• Must pass background checks, drug screening, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and handle objects up to 75 lbs.
• Work outdoors and indoors, exposed to weather, noise, electrical hazards, and chemicals.
• Frequent movements include standing, walking, handling, climbing, and bending.
