Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Production Scheduler to manage and optimize manufacturing schedules within our ERP system. You will balance customer commitments with plant capacity and drive on-time delivery.

You will partner with Project Managers, Purchasing, and production supervisors to align plans, monitor progress, and communicate risks. The role emphasizes accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years in production scheduling or manufacturing planning (heavy manufacturing preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Background in pipe manufacturing or water/wastewater infrastructure products (a plus).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6), including resource loading.
• Strong command of scheduling principles; proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to evaluate schedules and proposed changes and determine project impacts.
• Clear, concise communication skills—both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain detailed schedules in ERP.
• Plan production to meet customer demand commitments.
• Develop and sustain baseline project schedules with PMs.
• Monitor progress with supervisors; resolve constraints.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on material status and lead times.
• Communicate changes and risks to the Director and stakeholders.
• Support short- and long-range production planning.
