Job summary

McKenney’s, Inc. is seeking a Director of Pipe Manufacturing to lead pipe fabrication and assembly operations.

The role drives operational excellence, scalability, and innovation through capacity planning, process standardization, digital integration, and capital investment. You will partner with Engineering, VDC, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and field teams, aligning with business unit leaders and project managers to support execution and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or building construction, or equivalent.
• Project management or BIM management experience in the mechanical and plumbing industry or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction industry.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term fabrication and manufacturing strategy aligned with growth and profitability goals.
• Provide leadership to transform fabrication into a scalable, technology-enabled operation.
• Set department budgets and manage overhead, capex, and costs to targets.
• Standardize best practices across fabrication operations with Lean manufacturing focus.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders to align fabrication with business objectives.
• Lead fabrication supervisors and shop leadership to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure standardized processes, documentation, and quality requirements including welding compliance.
• Develop onboarding and workforce development programs for fabrication staff.
• Adopt digital fabrication tools (including Stratus) to support workflows from BIM to installation.
• Evaluate new technologies and ROI analyses to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate on workforce strategies to recruit and retain skilled fabrication personnel.
