Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, with hands-on semiconductor processing, research and development.
  • 2+ years' experience in device physics, semiconductor process technologies, or materials science through research, coursework, or internships.
  • 2+ years' experience in design of experiment and statistical analysis tools such as JMP or equivalent.
  • 2+ years' experience with electrical characterization techniques (e.g., CV-IV testing, pulse generation) and physical characterization methods (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD).
  • Knowledge of CMOS process technology and solid‑state physics.
  • Experience in electrical test metrics, integration schemes, and defect analysis.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes such as lithography, etch, and packaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment and lead research initiatives.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Semiconductor research process integration engineer with a strong understanding of CMOS device physics, thin films, and modern transistor structures including FinFETs and Nanoribbons.
  • Performs integrated process feasibility studies and provides process solutions and innovations, for enhanced performance, reliability, scalability and yield, while maintaining high quality, and ensuring safety for ultimate transfer to high volume manufacturing.
  • Develops enhancements on existing process flows through introduction of novel materials and continuously innovates, for continued process enhancements, while working in a collaborative environment with other integration, module, device, TCAD, design and analytical groups, to help steer our technology roadmap.
  • Plans, designs and conducts experiments as part of a team, to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle from external academic and consortia engagements to internal research and development for eventual transfer during pathfinding engagements with technology development counterparts.
  • Identifies integrated process solutions to achieve program goals, while continuously interfacing with customers and partnering with multifaceted engineering, and technician teams.
  • Leverages experience and expertise in device fabrication, device testing analysis and materials characterization (including SIMs, SEM, TEM, EDX, FTIR etc.) to establish value proposition, guide programs and set direction for programs.
  • Conducts program transfers from technology research to development teams, while effectively interfacing with engineering and management counterparts.
  • Prepares regular updates to communicate key results with clear summaries, identifying internal as well as external engineering and vendor resource needs, with clear scheduling to intercept technology timelines.
  • Leverages big data analysis to identify process design opportunities and/or manufacturing tool issues to propose data-based solutions.
  • Collaborates and engages with development and material suppliers, and partners to develop processes and equipment needs to meet technology roadmaps.
