Job summary

Cormetech in Durham, NC is seeking a Process and Materials Lab Technician to operate pilot-scale equipment, weigh and prepare materials, and conduct material testing under the Development Department. You will monitor process variables, document results, and ensure safety while supporting development trials and production experiments.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Strong math and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel expected.
• Some college preferred but not required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in science or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, weigh, and prepare raw materials as directed.
• Operate lab mixers and kneaders; monitor processing variables.
• Document test results and provide feedback to engineering.
• Set up and operate hydraulic extrusion equipment.
• Inspect dies and screens for wear and report issues.
• Follow safety policies and maintain records.
