Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ seeks an Operations Specialist for the SSO Pilot Plant to support daily pilot-scale batch production under cGMP/S&E requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to prepare materials, perform wet and dry chemistry steps, and ensure equipment readiness.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and continuous improvement, with 1st/2nd shifts on a rotating schedule, onsite five days a week, and opportunities to mentor new staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a technical field or equivalent by Dec 2026.
• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years in pharma/chemical/related industry.

Responsibilities

• Execute batch production at pilot scale under guidance of a facility lead.
• Ensure cleaning, batch execution, and housekeeping meet SSO/CGMP standards.
• Collaborate with building staff to drive continuous improvement and incident investigations.
