Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in the United States (Fremont) seeks an experienced Research & Development Operations Manager to lead the Pilot Plant operations, maintenance, and NMS program for strategic R&D initiatives in the Global Meals and drinks baby food category.

You will oversee trial execution, equipment and IT infrastructure maintenance, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and Nestlé policies while driving cost control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years related work experience.
• Experience managing people in a technical or operational function.
• Experience with CapEx submissions or basic project management is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 22000 / NQMS / HACCP / Food Safety

Responsibilities

• Operational management and planning to execute Pilot Plant trials in a timely and efficient manner.
• Coordinate maintenance and improvement of pilot plant equipment and local IT infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance of Pilot Plant facilities with Quality & Food Safety, SH&E, Nestlé policies and regulations.
• Ensure material and finished product availability from procurement to final disposition.
• Lead and coach team to deliver on performance objectives and development plans.
• Support innovation efforts and transfer knowledge of new technologies to support industrialization and start-up.
• Facilitate small to medium-scale projects in the pilot plant.
• Manage operating expenses and drive continuous improvement of operations (efficiency, effectiveness, capacity).
• Partner with Quality Management to sustain compliance and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
