Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Penrose, CO, is seeking a Chemical Engineering Technician for stand‑up and operation of pilot facilities supporting chemical and black powder research. You will collaborate with operations, quality control, and R&D to bring systems online on a 9/80 onsite schedule.

Reporting to the Lead Chemical Technician, this full-time role requires maintaining equipment, troubleshooting, and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations while coordinating with the Engineering Chemicals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in industrial manufacturing or 2+ years with an AET degree
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose mechanical issues quickly
• Hand and shop tool knowledge (power tools, saws, grinders)
• Excellent communication and time management for cross‑functional work
• Ability to function in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Independent and self-directed work style
• Understanding of basic design principles (hardware sizing and material compatibility)

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain piping systems and fittings
• Support day-to-day pilot plant operations with equipment and issue resolution
• Maintain and repair pumps, valves, and general hardware
• Assemble structural systems using Unistrut, t-slot framing, concrete mounting
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain pilot plant and spare parts inventory
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to stand up new pilot systems
