Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a dedicated ARTCo Pilot Apprentice for an on-site, exempt role in St. Louis, MO. The program trains cadets to safely operate towing vessels and lead teams with a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include vessel familiarization, watch standing, environmental protection, safety and emergency response, rules of the road, maneuvering and leadership. Minimum three years vessel experience and ARTCo exposure are required, plus TWIC and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Three years’ vessel experience required.
• Minimum of two years’ ARTCo experience.
• Must have submitted license application for Apprentice Steersman.
• Ability to coach, mentor and lead a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Complete core components of the Pilot Apprentice program.
• Vessel Familiarization and Operations; Watch Standing; Safety and Environment.
• Lead and develop teams while promoting safety policies and procedures.
