Job summary

South Suburban Parks and Recreation is seeking a motivated Mat Pilates instructor to design, implement and lead safe, effective classes for recreation center participants of varying fitness levels.

The ideal candidate will hold a Mat Pilates or Group Fitness certification, have prior instructional experience, and understand exercise science and wellness concepts to educate participants effectively.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current group fitness or mat Pilates certification.
• Prior experience instructing the specialty.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of exercise science, nutrition and wellness.
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants.
• Understanding fitness programming principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement mat Pilates classes for participants of varying fitness levels.
• Lead engaging and safe sessions at the recreation center.
• Provide motivation and instruction to improve participants' health and fitness.
• Foster positive client relationships and promote ongoing participation.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification or Mat Pilates certification.
• Will have prior experience in instruction of specific specialty.
• First Aid certification is preferred.
• Has an understanding and knowledge of exercise science, nutritionand wellness to promote fitness and educate participants.
• Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintainworking relationships with employees and the public.
• Will have knowledge of the principals and practices of fitness programming.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Graduation from high school or completion of GED.
• Current Group Fitness Certification or Mat Pilates certificationfrom an accepted national certifying organization and must bemaintained through Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) as required.
• Possession of current certifications in CPR/AED required.
