Job summary

South Suburban Parks and Recreation is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher to coordinate daily class operations, plan and evaluate activities for children, and work closely with children and parents in a safe, engaging environment.

Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, CPR/First Aid, and meet state licensing requirements. This ongoing role offers a supportive, family-friendly workplace with employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Psychology or Special Education, OR an Associate’s degree with 6 months verified experience with children.
• CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions certifications are required.
• Complete 15 hours of training annually.
• Satisfactory criminal background check as required by Colorado regulations.
• Provide all documentation required by state licensing upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education,Elementary Education, Child Psychology or Special Education. ORAssociate’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Educationand six (6) months of verified experience working with children in achild development program.
• Must meet appropriate Group Leader requirements/qualifications andprovide all documentation as required by the State of Colorado’sDepartment of Human Services upon hire.
• Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions.
• Complete fifteen (15) hours of training annually.
• Satisfactory criminal background check including Colorado Bureauof Investigations and TRAILS/Central Registry criminal record reviewas required by the Colorado Department of Social Services withinfive (5) working days of employment.
• Provide all documentation as required by the State of ColoradoChild Care Licensing Division upon hire.
• Complete all necessary trainings that are required by the ColoradoDepartment of Early Childhood within thirty (30) days of employment.
