Corewell Health’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids seeks a part-time Unit Secretary for night shifts. The role provides essential clerical support on the unit, handles calls, directs visitors, and coordinates with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication and attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior relevant experience preferred.
• Weekend availability required (full weekends every third weekend; additional weeknights).

Responsibilities

• Perform receptionist/secretarial duties and maintain confidential records, supplies and equipment.
• Take phone calls and direct visitors to appropriate locations on the unit.
• Assist with discharge, admit, and transfer paperwork and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Order supplies and ensure rooms are stocked; respond to call lights for non-direct patient care needs.
• Interface with patients in clinical settings as needed and assist under RN supervision.
