Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center's Children's ICU-Group F seeks an RN for the PICU weekend shift to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the assigned unit. You will coordinate admissions, maintain records, and counsel families, while liaising with case managers, home health, and utilization review teams.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients.
• Educates patients and family members on condition, medications, and care plans.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Coordinates referrals to other services within and outside the unit.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Functions as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines.
• Reports issues to supervisor as appropriate.
• Participates in committees or councils to improve patient care and service quality.
