Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center, Main Campus Jackson, seeks an RN Inpatient Weekender to provide direct patient care, assess needs, and implement treatment plans in the assigned unit.

You will coordinate admissions, educate patients and families, maintain records, and collaborate with case managers, home health staff, and other services to ensure safe, effective care. Weekend shifts run Friday 7pm to Monday 7am.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license required.
• Knowledge of nursing care procedures and protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients.
• Educates patients and possibly family members on treatment, diet, and medication adherence.
• Ensures patient safety and maintains accurate records.
• Coordinates referrals to other services within and outside the unit.
• Serves on nursing councils or committees to improve patient care.
