University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an Open Rank Instructor/Sr. Instructor in Pediatrics Critical Care for the PICU at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO.

The APP will provide 24-hour coverage with a mix of day, evening, and night shifts. The role requires APAP-trained Physician Assistant or APN- trained Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with relevant licensure, prescriptive authority, and critical care experience in a tertiary/quaternary setting.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an APAP approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
• Colorado license required prior to start date; BLS and PALS certification required.
• For Pediatric Nurse Practitioner track: master's degree and APN licensure; prescriptive authority within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provides/coordinates clinical practice for PICU patients 24 hours a day under supervision of attending physician.
• Delivers evidence-based clinical care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Gathers information from history, tests, and examinations to form a care plan.
• Documents daily patient data, test results, and treatment responses.
• Rounds daily on PICU patients and collaborates with the care team.
• Communicates with families about changing care needs and plans.
• Utilizes prescriptive privileges and current standards for therapies.
• Engages in quality improvement and/or clinical research activities.
