Job summary

MWRA in Deer Island, MA is seeking a Project Manager for Process Instrumentation and Control System (PICS) responsible for maintaining a distributed control system at the Deer Island Treatment Plant. The role covers hardware, software maintenance, and performance monitoring to support wastewater treatment operations.

Responsibilities include monitoring PICS network security, evaluating and deploying tools, developing incident response plans, and maintaining system backups and licenses.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electronic/electrical/mechanical engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 5+ years in computerized networks or DCS environments; familiarity with control systems.
• MS Windows/DOS experience; Windows domain admin a plus.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232/RS485 communication methods.
• On-call rotation; Massachusetts Class D license preferred; essential personnel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor PICS network security and system integrity.
• Evaluate and deploy hardware/software to detect and mitigate threats.
• Assist in developing information security plans for the PICS network.
• Contribute to incident response planning and drills.
• Maintain PICS hardware turnover, backups, licenses and vendor warranties.
• Ensure system availability and perform preventive maintenance.
