Job summary

Wood-Dale-Park-District is seeking a part-time Pickleball Instructor to teach program participants at the Recreation Complex and district parks. You will implement activities, supervise participants, and maintain safety while delivering engaging instruction in both indoor and outdoor settings.

The role requires at least 18 years old, pickleball teaching experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have pickleball teaching experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Knowledge of pickleball rules and regulations for all types of play.
  • Teaching multiple age groups and skill levels.

Responsibilities

  • Implement pickleball activities and provide instruction to participants.
  • Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff regarding rule infractions, questions, and concerns.
  • Lead activities and practice active supervision of participants at all times.
  • Maintain safety-first approach and manage drills and games smoothly.
  • Notify Recreation Supervisor of accidents, safety concerns, or maintenance issues.
  • Set up necessary equipment before class and return to storage after class.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Distribute written communications to participants as needed.
  • Follow district safety policies and procedures.

Position Summary:The Pickleball Instructor is a part-time position responsible for teaching pickleball to program participants and implementation of on-site activities and instruction.Work Location: Recreation Complex (111 Foster Ave) and various district parks and facilitiesHours & Compensation - Rate of pay $20.00 per hour. Days and hours will vary based on instructor availability and patron demand. The schedule will be determined collaboratively by the instructor and the Supervisor. We anticipate initially offering classes on weekday evenings and weekend mornings or afternoons, with flexibility to adjust the schedule as needed.Benefits:Part Time -NON- IMRFPart Time PTO – After one year of employment.
