Job summary

Picklewood in Seattle is seeking a energetic Pickleball Coach to run clinics, group lessons, camps, and leagues, helping players of all levels improve while keeping sessions fun and welcoming.

You will guide guests to the right experiences, coordinate gear, and collaborate with front desk and leadership to deliver a standout guest experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience in pickleball or related sports.
• Strong ability to teach a range of players from beginners to advanced.
• Excellent communication with players, guests, team members and leadership.
• Ability to lead organized, engaging group sessions.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and peak times.
• Must be 18 or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinics, group lessons, camps, leagues, and coached play to build skills and confidence.
• Help guests find the right gear, from paddles to apparel.
• Create a welcoming and engaging environment for all players.
• Conduct player evaluations and connect them with appropriate programming.
• Keep sessions on time and run smoothly; manage groups effectively.
• Collaborate with front desk, floor, bar, and leadership teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and maintain safe, clean teaching areas.
• Suggest clinics, leagues, and events tailored to players’ interests and goals.
• Plan and run tournaments with proper timing and smooth operation.
• Communicate clearly and support the team and guest experience.

What You’ll Do

• Coach them up: Lead clinics, group lessons, camps, leagues, and coached play that help players build skills, confidence, and a love for the game.
• Deck them out: Help guests find the right gear for them, from paddles to clothing we’ve got it
• Ace the player experience: Create a welcoming and engaging environment for everyone from first-time players to experienced competitors.
• Find their game: Conduct player evaluations, help players understand their skill level, and connect them with the right programming and level of play.
• Keep programming in rally mode: Be prepared, start and finish sessions on time, manage groups effectively, and keep programming running smoothly.
• Be part of the Picklewood team: Work alongside the front desk, floor, bar, and leadership teams to create a seamless experience on and off the court.
• Keep the courts game-ready: Help with setup and breakdown, maintain clean and organized teaching areas, and ensure equipment and courts are ready and safe for play.
• Grow the game: Recommend clinics, leagues, events, and other Picklewood programming that fit each player’s interests and goals.
• Run the Bracket: Build, implement and run tournaments like a pro, adjusting game times as needed and ensuring the experience is flawless.
• Net every detail: Communicate clearly, solve problems in the moment, follow club policies, and jump in wherever needed to support the team and guest experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated pickleball coaching or instructional experience(kids camps, tennis, squash, etc.).
• Strong playing ability and a solid understanding of pickleball fundamentals, strategy, positioning, and rules.
• Ability to confidently teach a range of players, from first-time beginners through advanced players.
• Ability to lead group instruction and keep sessions organized, engaging, and moving.
• Clear and professional communication with players, guests, team members, and leadership.
• A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt your coaching style to different players and personalities.
• Commitment to delivering excellent guest experiences through hospitality and teamwork.
• Ability to stay calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings, weekends, and other peak programming times as needed.
• PPR, IPTPA, or equivalent coaching certification preferred.
• Genuine enthusiasm for pickleball, people, and creating a welcoming, high-energy environment.
• Must be 18 or older to apply
