Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring a Pickup and Delivery Clerk in Edison, NJ. The role focuses on paperwork coordination with drivers and supporting dispatchers with administrative tasks.

You will handle manifests, BOLs, payments, and customer service for internal and external clients, with typical evening shifts and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of office and/or operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Experience using handheld computers/scanners.
• Experience with AS400 is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Print drivers’ manifest and provide hazardous materials of lading to the appropriate personnel.
• Scan bills of lading and driver receipts into system for billers to access.
• Handle and process checks, CODs or cash as needed and store money safely.
• Verify delivery receipts and signatures.
• Verify and record any cash or check payments.
• Enter exception Drivers Receipt process on any pro numbers manually.
• Assist operations by monitoring and following up on various reports, such as EDI, spot trailer, spotted shipment report, etc.
• Assist in OS&D functions including free astray and undelivered freight reports and exceptions.
• Answer phones promptly, set appointments and trace shipments.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Pickup and Delivery Clerk to join our OD Family Culture. Our Clerk will successfully work with drivers to ensure they have necessary paperwork for their daily runs and assist the dispatchers with administrative needs.

Compensation Range:

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, skill level, and state/local wage requirements.

($21.12-$25.66)
