Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC in Mount Airy, NC is seeking a Pick & Prep associate to prepare products and engage guests through sampling and storytelling about Fresh, Healthy, Seasonal, and Local offerings. You will help create a sensory and engaging experience while upholding company standards.

You will demonstrate knife showmanship, operate the Pick & Prep area, ensure product quality and sanitation, stock and merchandise, perform PA announcements, and carry out other duties as assigned by management to

• Physical ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of Pick & Prep operations and knife skills.
• Strong communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to operate computers and scales.

Overview

To prepare Pick & Prep product and provide product preparation services to create a sensory and engaging experience for guests, while operating at or above company standards.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage guests through product preparation, active sampling and suggestive selling.
• To personally demonstrate superior guest service at all times. This will included but is not limited to storytelling about specific products within the department, highlighting product benefits such as Fresh, Healthy, Seasonal and most importantly Local, etc..
• Demonstrate knife showmanship skills to highlight the services and show offered at Pick & Prep
• Operate the Pick & Prep area according to strict merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
